Ryan Lackey is a serial technology entrepreneur focused on computer security, Internet infrastructure, and cryptographic market systems. From 2003-2007, he managed Blue Iraq, a communications service provider and defense contractor in the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia, serving mainly the defense and reconstruction market. Blue Iraq developed and deployed satellite, radio, and IP networks, software management tools, and related technologies. Previously, Ryan founded HavenCo, a datahaven located on the self-declared independent Principality of Sealand, in the North Sea, which was covered extensively by the international press, including the cover of Wired Magazine in July 2007. He also developed electronic cash protocols in the Caribbean, and consulted on RFID payment projects, social network advertising networks, Internet security infrastructure, and other projects. Other consulting engagements included secure facilities design, distributed hosting infrastructure architecture, and security audits of new applications. He attended MIT as an undergraduate, and has presented papers at numerous academic and professional conferences around the world, including Defcon, RSA Conference, and HAL.
